They say you usually meet your lifelong friends either in high school or university. Although that is true, it’s important to give credit to your neighbours and family friends. Kamal and I have been friends since practically birth. We go way back is an understatement. Our mothers (who met at university) are best friends. You could honestly call them siblings instead of just “Best friends”.
44 not Boycott – June 23, 2017. That was the last time I saw Kamal since moving to Canada. It’s been 7 years since then. Although we didn’t see each other as much as we did growing up, it never stopped us from checking in. Growing up, we usually bounced ideas off one another. We’ve had several “creative” phases both as individuals and collaborators. I have gone through drawing, photography, writing, and film phases. He has gone through a drawing, animating, and music phase. Our collaborative project; Shark comics, unfortunately, didn’t reach its potential as we were only kids and weren’t overly passionate about it.
Recently, I have had the pleasure of working & collaborating with Kamal. I would say this is my favourite project yet. Although the first of its kind, it would definitely not be the last. We present to you our most recent collaboration: Sofa.
